Scrappin’ with Stampin’ Up

OH MY GOSH!  I am so excited to share this with all of you!  My friend Tina over at Loving Lifes Little Moments has saved my scrapbook life!  First, I have to confess something: I quit scrapbooking.. Yep between starting my own business, raising a child, family, and church I was plum out of time and energy to scrapbook… BUT I went into hiding about it.  I didn’t discuss it, I quit going to crops and I pretended like everything was ok… while on the inside I was GUILT ridden!  Here I am KNOWN for my scrapbooking… The person with the elaborate scrapbooks that everyone loves to look at and admire… Do you know what 90% of those people say after looking at my scrapbooks???
“Wow, these are beautiful, but I would never have the patience to do all this.”  WELL, now I know what they meant!  My life got so busy and full and I was so stuck in the mindset that my layouts HAD to be elaborate that I just gave up…. UNTIL……. Tina brought me Becky Higgins… this woman is brilliant!  So here is a photo of my new way of scrapbooking… Watch this video and you will see what the new Project Life way of scrapbooking is all about!  AND EVEN MORE for me specifically my new way of Stampin’ Up Scrappin!  I am thrilled about this!  Thank you Tina for reconnecting me to my love and passion for scrapbooking!

Thank You Gum Wrappers

Hello Everyone!
Today I have a simple and quick project.  I wrapped these packs of gum to send to the troops!  It was a lot of fun to make these and incredibly simple!  I had to fight the urge to make them more elaborate.  Then I thought about the troops, and realized they probably aren’t going to care a lot about how much I embellish their Gum! HAHAHA!

God Speed to Our Soldiers

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For You are with me, thy rod and staff, they comfort me” ~ Psalms 23:4

Every time I hear this or think of this scripture I think of my cousin Kyle.  He is a United States soldier and he is deployed in Afghanistan right now.  He was involved in some of the fall out of the attacks on the Afghan Parliament and US earlier this week.  His barracks burned to the ground.  His company lost all of their belongings.  In an effort to make sure he has some of the comforts of home my family is sending boxes to him and his fellow soldiers.

Today’s post is completely unrelated to Stampin Up but has everything to do with it all at the same time.  I am able to stay at home with my daughter and run my own little business because of soldiers that are willing to stand on that wall and provide the Freedom that we so take for granted.  It occurred to me today that if it weren’t for Kyle and many many men and women that have gone before him, we would not have the freedoms we have today.  More importantly as a woman, I am guarded and protected and valued as an equal human being because I live in this country!  Today’s video is a salute to you Kyle and to all the other soldiers fighting beside you and the ones that have gone before you, and that will go after you.

Kyle, may God bless you and keep you in the hallow of His hand.  May you seek His face in times of fear, sadness and tragedy.  He is always with you.  I pray for you everyday.

Here is a video of my friends and I packing up boxes to send to Kyle along with some other family photos!
