Peace on Earth. Isn’t that a beautiful sentiment!? I remember when I was a child all I ever wanted was peace on earth.
Then as I grew up and became somewhat jaded by the world, I realized Peace on Earth probably was never going to happen. Idealism is a wonderful thing, sometimes I wish we could stay young and idealistic forever.
The day of the terrorist attack in France I was in Disneyland. The first ride we went on was It’s a Small World, probably my all time favorite ride. I got big crocodile tears in my eyes thinking about all the victims in Paris as I passed this display on the ride, in the happiest place on earth.
This picture is the inspiration for the card I created today for my last project in the 12 Days of Christmas series.
In the video I share that I created this card two ways. One with the world watercolored using Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambit 12 Pack Watercolors (say that 5 times fast). The other with a basic punch art design.
Here is the punch art design card.
The video is below. It’s a little long, but it’s fun. So hope you enjoy.
As I mentioned in the video. I am giving away blog candy. A medium flat rate box packed full of Stampin’ UP! goodies. All you have to do is leave me a comment below sharing one of your favorite christmas traditions.
Last but certainly not least.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you enjoyed the 12 Days of Christmas series. Let us all pray for Peace on Earth.

Thank you for designing and sharing the 12 days of Christmas with all of us. Our traditions will be much different than yours. The tree goes up on December 23. Christmas Eve we have an open house with traditional Canadian foods, Rappie Pie, Tourtiere Pie, and Chutneys , seafoods such as chowder, lobster, oysters, halibut and numerous sweets and delicacies. Christmas Day is family only with Boxing Day an open house with delicacies, sweets and finger foods. There is typically no alcohol and New Years Day is a gathering of family for a feast to usher in a new beginning. The tree comes down the day after Old Christmas. Thanks again. I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year !
Karen,
Thank you so much for sharing your traditions. What fun! I love it!

Wendy, Thank you for sharing your fabulous talent. I have really enjoyed your 12 days of Christmas and your other videos all year. Not sure which was my favorite, they were all great. We attend a Christmas Eve service at church, then several families get together for food and singing, then Christmas day we gather the family for dinner and presents. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
Hi Mary

Thank you so much for leaving a sweet comment. Fun traditions 🙂
Wendy, Thank you so much for sharing your time, talents, and imagination with us. Your videos are very inspiring. Don’t really have one favorite video; they are all equally good. My favorite Christmas tradition is going out after dark in the car and looking at the light decorations. Where we live, there is a lake that can be driven around and is decorated with all kinds of lights. Oh, it is so beautiful! I wish everyone could see it. I hope you and your family have a very “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!”
Thanks for sharing Barb!
???? sad the 12 days of Christmas are over! Loved watching all of them! We like to make goodies and drop off to people to brighten their day all month long! We love to do as much family activities as we possibly can do! holly
Thanks Holly!
Thank you for all your beautiful ideas to make Christmas special. Your earthly angel is perfect and unique
I am new to your site, but really enjoy it.
We always play Bingo after dinner on Christmas Day. It brings young and old together and the prizes make it extra fun.
Merry Christmas
We have several traditions. The first is going out and cutting down the tree. Last year was especially memorable because we ended up with a 13 foot tree that we could barely figure out how to get into the house when we got home. Then this year, our kids 8 and 5, went straight for a tree that was at least 30 feet. However, we ended up with a more normal size one this year.
Another tradition we have it that we go Christmas caroling to our neighbors on Christmas eve.
And one final one is that we host a huge Christmas brunch with family usually Christmas eve. No one leaves hungry. 🙂
Merry Christmas! I’ve so enjoyed your 12 days of Christmas series, it has given me tons of ideas for the holiday season. Thank you for making these videos!
I love your card tutorials. I really love this little angel. Your whole series has been a joy to watch and I can’t wait to see the next series you come up with. Thank you for sharing your talent with the rest of us.
Thank you for sharing your creativity for these 12 days. My favourite Christmas tradition is baking things that have always been special for my family and are only baked for Christmas – a particular lemon bread, Edinburgh shortbread cookies, date nut loaf, and Chinese Chews.
Do you share recipes? Sounds yummy.
These gave been so great Wendy. I can’t decide what I like best.
Okay, you ASK about family tradition; well here it goes people. My brother John is a prankster and we all know it. What we don’t know is WHO is getting pranked. It’s never harmful, but always a blast. The entire family loves it, honestly. We love him dearly and always enjoy his imagination. It’s much better than dirty Santa to us. Merry Christmas Wendy to you and your entire family and friends, from our family, 10 grown children all from the same mom and pop, with spouses and most have children too. We love my family.
Hi Wendy,
I don’t really have a favorite, but when you were talking about your trip and the tragedy in Paris and California, I got weepy. I too pray for peace on earth.
If I had a favorite the card you made with your peace on earth angel is mine.
I go to my middle sons for dinner with his family for Christmas eve, then presents after. I love spending time with my grand babies, then on Christmas day my children all go to their in laws for the holiday, but I do get phone calls of best wishes and good tidings. I usually spend the day watching old movies in my jammies.
I truly wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and the most wonderful New Year.
Best wishes,
Cheryl

I think my very favorite tradition is going to Midnight Mass.. I always loved listening to the choir sing at midnight mass when I was a child and I still love listening to them.
I definitely enjoyed the 12 days of Christmas! My favorite cards were the Grinch and the snow child! But I’m going to try the Elf box and give them to my coworkers next week!
A tradition is that the whole family goes to church on Christmas Eve.
Hello from North East Scotland. I am very new to your videos, and have loved every one. One of our family traditions is that our Christmas tree and decorations always get put up on 8th of December, our wedding anniversary (36 years this year).
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year xx
I enjoyed all of your ideas but my favorite is the Grinch. My husband has to work again this Christmas so I’m a kind of grumpy… One of our traditions on Christmas eve is to visit our families (Aunts/Uncles/Cousins/ ect.) houses to see everyone’s Christmas trees and exchange make-it gifts.
I really enjoyed your 12 days of Christmas series! I loved them all but my favorite was the grinch card. Our Christmas traditions are to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and then spend as much time with family as possible. We love to make goodies with the kids! We always go to Hollywood Zoo on Christmas Eve to look at the Christmas lights, bottle feed the baby animals, roast hotdogs & marshmallows over an open fire, and drink hot chocolate!!!
I loved all of the 12 day videos!!! My family as a child are Jewish but as I started having my own kids on Christmas eve I would let my kids open one gift then after they would go to bed and next day we have a big breakfast and open gifts !!!
OK… DRUM ROLL PLEASE……. The winner of the Blog Candy for this post is: Cheryl Email me to claim your prize
