5 Simple Ways To Organize Your Craft Space

Crafting in a mess never works for me.

In fact I have to clean up one project before I can even start another.

Today Katie has asked that I share 5 of my simple tips on how to organize your craft space.

Let’s jump in.

1} Reducing package sizes helps to create more space.  When I get thinlets or framelits I like to take them out of their original packaging and putting them in the plastic sleeves below from Avery Elle, placed on a magnet.

You can get these magnets at Lowe’s or your local hardware store, they are actually vent covers.

2} I have a love affair with label makers.  Shhhh don’t tell my husband.  I LABEL everything.  This takes a little time at the start, however it saves you a lot of time in the long run.  With everything neatly labeled you don’t spend time searching for that one marker, that you know you bought, 10 years ago.

3} Sequins are messy.  They stick to everything and they come in all different size and shape packages.  In order to streamline the storage of all my sequins I bought this bead organizer from Walmart.  My friend Katina originally came up with this idea, so I can’t take full credit.

4} These are the perfect size jars for storing all the little doodads and whatnots that a crafter loves.  The perk is, the jars smell really yummy.  You can purchase the jar candles at Walmart, enjoy burning them.  When they are almost gone you can put them in the oven at about 200 degrees and melt the remaining wax, once you do that pour the wax out and wash the jar.  TADA!  Great jar to use for storage.

5} One of my favorite organizers is the mini closet maid organizers.  They are hard to find now.  I purchased mine at Target several years ago.  But I did find them here on Fleet Farm.  These organizers sit on top of my crafting counter.
