Today I have tips & tricks for you using background dies.
I chose to use the Stampin’ UP! Detailed Hearts die. I love this die and it’s so versatile.
Creating different background and card ideas was super easy with this die.
Here’s my first idea. It’s simple.
Cover the cut out die with VersaMark ink, dip in embossing powder and heat set. Repeat. Now you have a beautiful die cut background you can use to create a fancy and impressive card.

Next, this is so easy because you get a two for 1.
Use inks and sponges to create an ink blended background. Die-cut the background. You can use the two pieces separately or together like a I did here.
Press N Seal is your friend. Cover the back of the die after cutting it out but before punching the pieces out with Press N Seal. Flip it over. Remove die. Add a white die-cut to outline and make the pieces look inlayed.

Third, use Stampin’ Blends. Color a piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock with Stampin’ Blends. Die cut using the background die. Before popping all the hearts out of the die, add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the hearts.

Lay the card base on to the hearts and remove from die. Now you have perfectly placed popped up hearts all over your card front.

Fourth, use the Stampin’ Blends colored die cut piece and layer on top of 2-3 white die cuts for a chipboard look. This will create a thick die cut that stands out well on your Whisper White thick card base.

Last, partial die cut bottom of the front of the card base. Add a window sheet to the inside front of the card base. You can then make this a sneak peek window or leave it blank.

Oh my word. So weird that I landed on this video to watch today. We just got our hearts broken over the Niners game yesterday. Like, can we hang onto the ball, please? Lol. All kidding aside, that was an amazing game. The Rams deserve it, but so did the Niners. My hubby is a HUGE Niners fan. His grandfather made him a fan too <3
I always love your cards. This die is a classic and I'll never get rid of it. I'm glad I found this video. So many fun and different ideas for this die!
Hugs!
