This card makes me feel cozy, wintery, blustery (winnie the pooh reference), happy, and frosty. Yes, a holiday card can give me all those feelings. The White Christmas stamp set is one of my favorite stamp sets in the 2014 Stampin’ UP! Holiday Catalog hands down.
First of all, it has all the elements of winer I love, snowmen, polar bear and these frigid bare trees. Secondly it’s on the inexpensive side, which let’s face it, is never a bad thing. Last, it reminds me of what a real winter would be like. Not a California winter. Well at least not where I live. They get snow further north but not here.
Tips & Tricks for this card:
- Tape your watercolor paper down using painters tape. Otherwise your paper will roll up on you and be a big mess.
- To layer color make sure you dry your card with a heat tool. Then you can add more layers of color without causing your paper to bead up on you. I hate that fuzzy stuff you get all over the place when you start rubbing with too much water.
- Be fearless. TRY all kinds of color. Don’t worry about messing it up. No two cards will turn out the same when you use this technique. SO have fun.
