Welcome to the Autism Matters Leadership blog hop.
The intent of our blog hop today is to raise awareness and raise some cash. We would love to have donations made to Autism Speaks. You can click HERE to donate.
One of the things that I think is super important is to provide support and encouragement to those that are taking care of an autistic person. Often the days are long and difficult and there is little to no appreciation of the day in and day out struggles associated with being a caretaker for an autistic child.
Does this mean that they love the child or person any less? Of COURSE NOT! But let’s face it, the struggles are real. And they are day in and day out.
Here is a card I made for my Mom and my friend Katina Martinez.
My Mom raises my nephew who is autistic. My friend Katina’s little girl Violet was diagnosed with Autism last year. Both of them do the very best they can every day. Both of them need awards for being hero’s to their kids.
I created this card using a watercolor background technique. You can watch the video HERE.
Then I just white embossed the flower from Remarkable You stamps set over the top.

Thank you Lee! I was glad to help. Even if it was kind of a mess this year LOL…

Beautiful water colouring Wendy. I love the card you made in the video you linked to too! Fabulous technique that I will be trying out! 🙂
Your watercolor here is just so vibrant and pretty Wendy. How sweet you are to provide your loved ones with a little encouragement in this way and to encourage others to be thoughtful of those they know that may be in similar situations. Best wishes in your initiative.
What a beautiful card Wendy! I love the soft colors from the watercolor wash! Thank you so much for organizing this hop and your efforts for Autism Awareness!!
