Need is an interesting word. Especially when it comes to crafting, we all do this hobby that we love and technically I guess we don’t “need” any of it. However, I must admit, I think a portion of my sanity is owed to creating pretty things.
Ok, let’s get into today’s card. For this card, I used my new freebie stamp set from Altenew and my Lovely Layer Hummingbird Die. I started by using my Mini MISTI to stamp and color the floral image. As you’ll see in the video I started by ink-blending the edges of the layer with Spun Sugar and I didn’t care for how it looked. Villainous Potion to the rescue. I ink blended right over the top of the Spun Sugar.
Next, I die-cut the hummingbird pieces and colored all the pieces with Copic Markers. I stamped the sentiment in HoneyBee Stamps White ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts white embossing powder.
After I got the card all finished I realized I still needed to stamp my name on the back. I tried to use my Mini MISITI for this task with the card folded in half but I could tell I wasn’t going to get a clean image because my hummingbird was raised.
The Original MISTI to the rescue. I opened the card up and was able to stamp my name on the back of the card with perfection.
