Floating Card Technique, Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration

The floating card is the coolest technique.  You know how sometimes you discover something new and then you get addicted to making it.  Like you can’t stop making them.  No?  You don’t have this problem?  Well, I do.  LOL.  So  you are about to see a few different versions of this card.

I was asked by Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration to create a tutorial on how to make these cards.  I did just that.  I really enjoyed it.  I will be doing their featured Technique Tuesday once a month.

I used the Cheerful Critters stamp set for both of these cards.

I made this card for my hubby.  His birthday isn’t until April but I had to make this one, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.  Did I mention I do that too?  Obsess over an idea until you make it.  I have had to get up in the night and make something just so I could quit thinking about it.

Happy Valentines card here.  I really love how this card turned out.  It was so much fun.  Using the Sweetheart Punch from Stampin’ UP! made it so much easier than hand cutting like I did with the other two three cards.

Tips & Tricks:

  • The quickest way to create these cards is using the Project Life by Stampin’ UP! framelits.
  • Using a thicker card stock is great for these cards because it gives the window piece more stability.
  • When you put your banner piece on use adhesive but make sure you don’t go over into the area that there is no border.  Meaning you don’t want your banner to stick to your back page of your card.
