Today I have some fun card shape ideas to share with you. Making cards in different shapes is a great way to mix up your cardmaking.
You can use any of your dies to create a card that is a different shape by following a few steps.
Card Shape Ideas
How cute is this first card? I just love the Hippo & Friends stamp set and Hippo & Friends dies and I’m so sad it’s going to be leaving the Stampin’ UP! catalog.

This cute little hat card was so fun to create. I absolutely love the Hats Off Bundle. This one is also retiring. I haven’t used this bundle enough but I think it’s one I’m going to keep in my arsenal of stamping products.
TIP: Anytime you’re making a card shape or shape card, simply cut the same shape twice. Score a small section of the die cut intended for the inside of the card and add adhesive. Add the front of the same shape die cut that is decorated to the back piece.

These cards are perfect to add to the front of a wrapped gift or stick inside a bag. Some of these cards are small enough to fit in the 3×3 envelopes that Stampin’ UP! sells.

Ok, the last of the card shape ideas is probably my favorite. I used the Layering Circle dies which are the perfect dies for every cardmakers craft room.
I ink blended with Stampin’ UP! Blending Brushes in Night of Navy and Pacific Point ink.

Next, I used the Plenty of Patterns masks to ink blend another layer of the same ink colors over the top. The Plenty of Patterns masks are retiring and I’m very bummed about that. They will remain in my craft room forevermore, amen.

Well, what do you think? Which of the card shape ideas is your favorite? Drop me a comment below and let me know. I always look forward to hearing your feedback.

I love them all but especially like the hat. Could you use these as place setting name tags? No I don’t know the comedian.
