One of my favorite places to go for inspiration is Global Design Project.
Each week they offer some sort of challenge or sketch that helps my creative juices flow.
This weeks sketch was just too good to pass up. I had to create a card.
It was one of those instances where the idea parked itself into my mind immediately and it’s all I could think about until I made it. Does that ever happen to you?
First you should see the flop card, I hated it when I got done with it. It just didn’t make the cut. However it has redeemed itself some since making it, but it’s just not the best.
Here is the finished product. As you can see it went in a very different direction.
I used copic markers to color the bug and then stamped my sentiment with the Suite Sayings stamp set. The designer series paper is from the Perfectly Artistic DSP that is offered free with a $50 order and then I also used, Wildflower Fields DSP which is also a freebie with a $50 order.
Here are the supplies I used to create these cards. Click on the images below to go to my online store and order them.

I love this VW Bug stamp! It’s so nice to see someone use it for this challenge. The polka dot DSP background is great, but I how love the SAB DSP looks like the sun! It not only frames the card but draws your eye to it too. Great card Wendy. I like your “flop” card too. Wish my flops looked that good, lol. Thanks for playing at Global Design Project this week.

Wendy – Both cards are pretty wonderful, Wendy. The second one is really amazing. Love the layering of shapes and colors – the texture from the Perfectly Artistic gives a great image in the circle. Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Sketch Challenge at the Global Design Project – so glad to see you playing along.
