Today we created a fun card using the layering circles technique. This cardmaking technique has been around for a long time, but this is the very first time I tried it.
I love the cool retro vibe it gives. If you use this technique with blues colors it really feels like waves to me. I can definitely see some cool beach scenes in the future.
This color combination is a little tricky. I wasn’t exactly sure how I was going to pull it together but I think I managed ok in the end.
It started with this card actually. Not only did I layer the circles incorrectly but I also used the Gray Granite to do some ink blending which ultimately made me feel like the cardstock looked dirty.
I shared this card and left it in the video with the intention of showing you that not all ideas come together perfectly, and that’s totally acceptable.
Sometimes I make a card that is in my mind and on paper it just comes out as a flop.
I did feel like this card was still useable. I have had some that go straight in the trash can. I’ll just send this to someone who upset me this year (JUST KIDDING). BTW, if you get this card, don’t read into it. I’m totally joking.
Now that I’ve made a couple of these cards I can say this is one of those addicting cardmaking techniques. You will want to just keep making them. I had several ideas, and if time was on my side I would’ve kept on making cards in all different colors and designs.
