Happy Birthday, Bella! feat. Prisma Watercolor Pencils

Created two versions of this card using the new Bella and Friends and Pretty Kitty stamp set from Stampin' UP! Wendy Cranford luvinstampin.com

This card taught me two things about Prisma Watercolor Pencils.

  1. They are easy to color with.
  2. The pros make it look MUCH easier than it is when adding water.

We all know how to color, well at least you do if you made it past Kindergarten.

However, coloring to make something look life like, fun or even interesting is much harder than it looks.

I am beginning to have a pretty good handle on copic coloring.  I have taken several classes and I can tell in my work that I am getting better, and learning more and more how to blend color and shade and create highlights.

I am thinking my prisma watercolor pencil techniques could use some work LOL.

At any rate, I imagined this card and a whole scenario in my head when I saw the Bella and Friends and Pretty Kitty stamp set.

First you know I am not a cat fan (I know don’t hate me).  Cats tend to be rude, aloof, and generally annoyed by the presence of other creatures, including but not limited to humans.

Immediately when I saw the kitty looking up and laughing, I thought… OH that cat is totally making fun of a dog.

Thus my entire card was born.

I talk more about the scenario in my video! It’s a longer than norm video but it’s fun.  Grab your favorite drink and enjoy!

Here are the supplies used for this card.  The non Stampin UP! supplies are listed below the Stampin’ UP! supplies.  I am not an affiliate for these items, I just like them and use them in my own crafting.

I love this card so much, and I love your story behind it in the video 🙂 I prefer the Copic coloured card, it’s crisper and more clean. I’ve stayed away from Copics so far, you’re making me want to try them.

What a great video, full of how the card came into being and also showing/telling of some of the ‘mistakes’ made. It is so rare for crafters to share those things on the tutorials but they are so very helpful to us when we watch.
Love both cards but veer towards the copic one for its smoother look. Thank you for taking the time and sharing.

Beautiful coloring and beautiful cards! I would love to share this on my blog for ‘My Crafty Friends Monday’ (a round up of amazing cards from amazing stampers!)! Please let me know if you would prefer that I didn’t share it (of course I give you credit and link back to your blog!).
    Inky Hugs!
