Harry Potter Party & Thank You Cards

When you have a huge Harry Potter fan in the house and she comes to you and says “Mommy, this year I would be able to go to Hogwarts because I am turning 11”, you start thinking on how to make it happen.

The amazing topper on the cupcakes is from Amazon you can get it HERE

While I knew a trip to Harry Potter land was out of the question this year I thought I could try to bring some Harry Potter love to her.

We’ve never done a sleep over. This year we thought we’d give it a go and had 3 other girls over for a slumber party. It was epic, and they all had a blast.

I really enjoyed having a smaller party with just a few girls. If I could convince this kid to do a small sleep over every year for her birthday, I’d be happy!

BIRTHDAY PARTY INFO:

+ Totes are from the dollar store, items inside are from various stores.

+ Harry Potter sign that is on top of the cupcakes is from Amazon, CLICK HERE to buy it.

+ Platform 9-3/4 Shower Curtain backdrop CLICK HERE

+ S’Mores Cupcake Recipe can be found on Pinterest, CLICK HERE

+ The table decor is just red and gold napkins and plates from a local party store, and then a black plastic table cloth.

+ Harry Potter Balloons (BE WARNED the red one actually blows up pink, I was annoyed and had the party store blow up plain red ones) CLICK HERE

I wanted each girl to get a special thank you card for coming to the party and for bringing Macie a sweet gift. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family in our life.

Here is the card I put together. Macie will fill each of them out and give them to each girl. I also have a video showing you the assembly and a few stories about the party!

TIPS & INSTRUCTIONS:

+ Cut card base at 4-1/4″ x 11″, fold in half

+ Cut a piece of Crushed Curry at 2-5/8″ x 4″ and a piece of Cherry Cobbler at 2-5/8″ x 4″, layer these pieces on to card base next to each other.

+ Cut Whisper White thick card stock at 2-1/8″ x 5-1/8″

+ Cut several strips of Cherry Cobbler card stock and Crushed Curry card stock in 1/2″ strips, layer on top of Whisper White thick card stock that is cut at 2″ x 5″.
