Hi chick!

That’s the entire concept behind this card.  I have been practicing my watercoloring and brush lettering and these images were the perfect images to watercolor.  These are from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set that you can get FREE with a $50 Stampin’ UP! order.

I am playing along this week with Global Design Project.  It’s their, “inspired by the designer” week.   This is definitely their most difficult challenge for me.  It’s hard for me to not completely copy the person, and if I go off on my own too much then I am not sure it is similar enough.

I am probably over thinking this.  Anyway, I was inspired by the stripes and a focal point in the middle of the card.  So that’s the direction I went with.

Here is the original design from Global Design Project:

Here is another shot of my card.  I also practiced my brush lettering skills on my sentiment.  I couldn’t find a sentiment that would fit just how I wanted, so I decided to letter one myself.  It turned out better than I expected.  (I started learning how to brush letter from Random Olive, click HERE to shop her store.)

I love these blue stripes on this card, Wendy. What a great background for this adorable chick. I love your hand-lettering, too. I’ve seen some of your work on FB – great stuff! Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Case the Designer (Connie Collins) Challenge at Global Design Project.

Wendy it was great to watch your video as this card came together. I think you nailed the CASE the designer challenge. You took what inspired you from Connie’s project and ran with it. I love that they look nothing alike! Thanks for playing at Global Design Project!
