Homeschool Update – Week 9

November Hostess CodeZ4NQCH2X

Doing great!  We worked on calendars for November this week.  That has been fun.  I told Macie to draw a Turkey at the top of her calendar, and she drew one on a plate that was a cooked turkey. HAHA!  I found that hilarious.  In my head I was thinking she’d draw this really cute turkey character with fun feathers.  Kids are so funny.  She amazes me all the time.
I really want a good Kindergarten Thanksgiving story book.  Does anyone have a suggestion?

We also got some fun printables from Confessions of a Homeschooler and did some other fun Turkey stuff.  I am working on teaching her all about Thanksgiving and what it means to be thankful.  I also started this mason jar thing and am using these Thankful For sheets around the house for us to write on when we think of something we are thankful for.  I have encouraged my husband to also write what he is Thankful for on them.  We’ve had fun doing this so far.  It’s cool to see what each one of us is thankful for each day.  I am looking forward to scrapbooking them.

We can’t let a week go by without stamping.  Every week at least once macie gets out all her stamping stuff and makes cards.  This week she made a card for her friend Kayla who is feeling under the weather.  I really love taking pictures of her work space.

Thanksgiving at the Tappletons’ by Eileen Spinelli is a wonderful story about how Thanksgiving is more than turkey and all the trimmings. My Kindergarten class always enjoyed listening to it.
