How to Unfry a Fried Pie & More

My cousin Sharon has several specialties that she makes.  Not only is she the quilting queen in our family she can cook REALLY yummy food.  I’ve yet to eat anything she makes that I don’t love.  But her number one most outstanding item that is my hands down favorite is, fried pies.  Although in this case these are more like UNFRIED pies.  You can fry these in crisco but they are much healthier if you bake them, and are almost as good.

Unfried Apricot Pies are really yummy and pretty.  The best thing about them is they are the perfect individual portion.  Here is the recipe for the Fried Pies.

On Sharons last visit we made a trip to her favorite store called Country Living.  It’s in the little town right near us.  I found a super cute antique scissor and twine holder.  I don’t know if this is what this was originally used for but it’s how it was displayed and I had to have it.  So now it sits on my counter top and I LOVE IT.  I also scored this new ribbon holder.  It was on sale at Joann’s for $12.99.

I truly hope you are enjoying my family posts.  I am having a blast sharing with you.  If you make these fried pies I would love to know about it. Make sure you email me and let me know how you like them.

Well Wendy I have been dreaming of your grandparents after the video of how to make Southern Sweet Tea. Since I have lost both parents and grandparents it made we remember some very sweet memories of them all. You obviously cherish your family as I do mine. Hold them close and make a ton of memories for the future. Good Bless you.

Not sure about making the fried pies since I’m not much of a cook, but love to see others stamp room supplies. The ribbon holder and scissor/twine thing are really cute. Wonder if my JoAnnes has the ribbon holder???
