Menageries Mix Up is a fun bundle that isn’t getting enough stamp time. Recently, I posted on my Instagram and asked which animal would be fun to make a card with. The reindeer won.
However, all the animals of Menagerie Mix Up deserve a card. They are all so cute.
This card was a lot of fun to create. I love color with Stampin’ Blends markers and I love all things animal and all things Christmas.
Christmas is the only good thing about winter, in my humble opinion.

For the first card I created, I used In The Pines Bundle from Stampin’ UP! and ink blended the tree backgrounds. Then I stamped the trees and added just a few touches of shadows.

I also cheated a bit and used my light Smoky Slate marker on the candy cane to create a shadow. And if we’re being honest, I added the shadows on the wrong side of the candy cane.
But who will ever notice that.

I decided to make another card using all the same elements but just added a tree and changed the location of the sentiment. I love both cards.

Here’s a quick tip! If you need a slightly lighter color, as I did, simply touch your color lifter to the tip of another marker and pull a little color off. Then use the color lifter to apply the lighter color to the cardstock.
In this case, I needed a pink for the inside of the ears of the reindeer, (side note: I used the wrong ears), at any rate, I used my Real Red marker and color lifter to get a pink color for the inside of the ears. It worked great.
