My Friend Illustrated This Stamp Set

In 2015 my friend Lydia told me to check out her friend Kelly’s YouTube channel. Kelly had just started her channel and she was a full-time 911 dispatcher and had been creating cards for years but joined the YouTube world in 2015. I immediately felt like I knew her.

Over the years, as she shared her stories (much like I do on my channel), I thought the same things she was saying. We were kindred spirits but she didn’t know it. I slid into her DMs on Instagram like a proper stalker and now we are buddies. People, I’m hard to resist, and I think she could tell we were meant to get to know one another. We share MANY commonalities.

Anyway, Kelly illustrated the stamp set I’m using today along with another one I purchased and will use soon. I’m so proud of her and her beautiful creations.

Today I am sharing one of Kelly’s newest illustrated stamp sets. This is the Anchor of Hope stamp set and dies from Honeybee Stamps. If you don’t already follow Kelly please do so, CLICK HERE to see her YouTube but come back here for the rest of this post.

For this card, I used copic markers to color the image and then I addd a little bit of colored pencil for darker shading. Shading with colored pencil is a trick I saw on Alberto Gava’s Instagram. He’s amazing BTW.

The next card was so fun to color. This image hit me in all the feels. It reminds me of my Grandpa and Grandma. My Grandpa was our anchor. He was incredible. My Grandma absolutely loved flowers. For several years my sister, cousin and I have talked about getting a tattoo honoring our grandparents and this feels like it would be a good one.

You’ll be seeing more fun cards from me using this stamp set and the other plumeria set that Kelly illustrated.

If you grab one of Kelly’s sets please let me know. I’d love to see what you create with her goodies. You can join my Creative Vault Facebook group and share your creations there.
