Today I have a fun no line watercoloring card to share. It’s pretty rough, I’m not going to act like I did a perfect job.
But with any of the watercolor things, practice makes progress. The more you practice a technique the better you will get at it.

My goal with this bear was to give the feel of Winnie The Pooh. That’s why I went with red and golds and that’s also why I used the sentiment Hello, Friend. Can’t you just hear Pooh bear saying this?

Here are my best tips for no line watercoloring with Stampin’ UP! inks:
+ Use a high quality watercolor cardstock. I use Arches Cold Press or Smooth Bristol Cardstock, Stampin’ UP! does have watercolor paper but I will be honest, it doesn’t hold up for my novice skills. I need paper that can take a beating.
+ Use water painters to start out. Then you don’t have to fuss with clean and dirty water wells and you have pretty good bristles for novice abilities.
+ I start by outlining my image with the ink and then add water to dilute towards the center. After the image dries you can go back in and add more details.
+ When you think it’s just a big mess, keep going. It usually gets better. Worse case scenario, scrap it and start again. But hang with it until the last minute.
