Last week we set off on an adventure to Montana.
My cousin, Shannon, and her family live in Montana and this is only our second time getting to visit them in 8 years.
We started the trip with a goal to make it to Pocatello Idaho. A long drive indeed. Lots of napping on the way. Truvy, our Vizsla, made herself very comfortable no matter where she was.
All the hotels we stopped at were closed for food and beverage.
Boy do I have a story to share from our stay in Pocatello. It will come in a future video.
When we got on the road we needed coffee. To my shock and surprise my hubby said, order me something fancy. He has never had a “fancy” coffee from Starbucks. So I ordered him a Mocha, which is the least fancy coffee at Starbucks, but he loved it.
Our next stop was Bozeman Montana, but we planned a full day going through the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.
I had never been to Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons and the only thing on my wish list was seeing Buffalos. And we did! I was thrilled to see an entire herd of Buffalo.
After staying the night in Bozeman, we got up bright and early to make the rest of the trek to Sidney.
After arriving in Sidney we visited and had a delicious dinner and the kids rode around on the quad and go cart. True middle America fun.
My cousin lives off a county road and there aren’t many neighbors. So there is plenty of room for kids to ride bikes, play and be kids. It reminds me a lot of how I got to grow up.
I love that my kid will always have this place to visit and cherish and will always have fond memories of every time we got to visit Montana.
We visited a small lake near Shannon and Johns home. They took their paddle boat and Kevin (my hubby) and John (Shannons hubby) made it a point to get lost. They took off in the boat, with a few beers and fishing poles and we didn’t see them again until much later in the evening.
We’ve had such a great time. Tomorrow we start our journey back to California.
