Serene Snow Globe Christmas Shaker Card Series #1

Shaker cards are my fav. I think of all the techniques and things I make, shakers are hands down my favorite.

The simply make me happy.

When I saw the new snow globe domes in the new Stampin’ UP! catalog, I totally flipped.

Ideas started running through my head by the dozens. I tried to make sure to write down as many ideas as I could.

The very first idea I had was to make a serene wintery night scene.

I love how it turned out.

Then I thought I wonder if I could make the same feel and look on glimmer paper.

While the colors aren’t quite as intense it’s still a very serene and quiet scene.

How much do you love this simple technique?

Sponging the glimmer paper is so stinking simple and FUN!

I do have to warn you that whatever sponge device you use will get glitter on your sponge and then it can transfer to your ink pad. So I ended up using a paper towel on my ink pad to clean it off after.

BOTH of your snowglobes are GORGEOUS!!!!! I plan to do the snowglobe for my Christmas cards and will be casing some of your ideas. I’m trying to do a snowglobe with a Florida scene inside but I’m not sure I have the right stamps. We’ll see how it goes…..
Also, to keep from getting glitter on your ink pads, I would suggest using ink spots instead of the full-size pads. If they get inky, you can toss them or mark as “glitter enhanded” (HA!) and keep for your next glittery project.
Thanks also for a great video!!!

Thank you for this video! I’ve been struggling with ink blending but tried it again tonight using some of your tips and its looking much better.

I like your name lol. The ketchup analogy was pretty priceless. This video was really helpful- I made unicorn shaker card invites for my daughter’s birthday party a few weeks ago, but put the shaker on the inside of the card- per other videos I have seen- and it was kinda eh when the card was folded. So this was helpful in showing me how to put the shakers on the outside and making it look cohesive. Thank you!
