I have some wonderful news to share today.
Some of you know that my husband is working through an apprenticeship to become a journeyman lineman. Last Friday he completed his last day in the first phase of this apprenticeship and is now a “hot apprentice” Which basically means he can work with electricity now vs being on the ground.
This may not sound like a big deal, but it is. He went through a year of being a “grunt” and then 6 months in a grueling training program that definitely tested his mental and physical limits.
I am so incredibly proud of him, not everyone that started this finished. He still has 2.5 years of apprenticeship, but we are celebrating this victory.
Photo credits are to whoever was on the ground taking photos of my husband. I have no idea who it was.
My guy is the one at the top of the pole waiting for the new pole to be dropped in.
We had friends and family over to celebrate, we had some drinks, a bon fire and I made fun s’more packets for everyone to roast marshmallows and enjoy.
Join me live today and I will show you how I created the cute s’more packages. You can join me live on Facebook at 4:30pm PST OR on You Tube at 4:30pm PST. Whatever you fancy.

Your project is adorable! And your hubby is a rockstar. I dont know that I would be able to work dangling from a chord that high in the air. 😉

Congratulations to your Hubby!
Congratulations on your ‘hot’ lineman. (I’m sure you’ve already heard that, tee hee.) My husband just retired from the utility after 20 years as a second career. He thought he was too old, but he made it. You too are embarking on a new journey – sleepless nights while he’s on call – up a pole – in a storm. BUT, you both will make it, and we’re thankful for his service!
Cute bags! Love that fox! Congratulations to your husband…what an accomplishment! Love the calendar giveaway! Sharing on FB!
Love the Fox and that DSP. Congratulations to your husband. That job takes a very special person!

Well Congrats to your Hubby. Any apprentice program can be grueling. My husband did 3 of them, one for College Teacher, mechanics. The 2nd one was for Machine Repair at Ford, many moons ago. Now his 3rd was actually the hardest. No one had answers on how to repair a new attraction at Disney. My husband and his fellow “Journeymen, had to learn how to operate the attraction but also how to repair and do weekly and monthly repairs. So believe me when I say, “It’s a very BIG DEAL! He will be so happy when he done. He deserves a pat on the back. You keep hanging in there and I’ll pray God is with him all the way. Congratulations! On this phase of your life!
Such wonderful news Wendy! Congratulations to your husband!!
