HAPPY 4th of July weekend!
I have waited for today for two weeks.
Lemme explain…
My husband was hired on to a company. The process to get the job was grueling. After 4 months of testing, interviews and thorough background checks he was offered a two week training slot. During this training period he is considered temporary and could be cut at any time. STRESSFUL MUCH?!
The catch is, in order for him to do this he had to quit his old job. If he didn’t make it through the two week training program he would be cut and not have a job at the new place either. GASP. This made me a nervous nelly.
WELL today is his last day at the two week training, he has made it through and is officially an apprentice lineman. Something he has worked SO hard for.
I have been waiting for this weekend to celebrate. Not only are we celebrating the 4th of July we are celebrating my husband having a job which results in me still being able to buy craft products, oh and clothes, and food and pay the mortgage. HAHA!
Today’s sequin shaker card is so fun. I created it for the Global Design Project sketch challenge. Funny thing is, my friend Katina Martinez who lives 2 blocks from me ALSO created a shaker card very similar to mine just different theme. I went to her house to drop her daughter off and saw her card, and my jaw dropped. I said oh my gosh did you create this for GDP, she said yes. CHECK OUT HER CARD HERE.
Ok enough stories for today. Hope you love the card. HAPPY 4th of JULY, and if you don’t live in America then have a drink tonight anyway celebrating that you have a friend in America (me).

What a great card Wendy, and a great tip about taking off the backing of the foam as well. I will be definitely trying that on my next circular Shaker card. Congratulations to you and your husband on his new position as Linesman! Thanks for playing at Global Design Project.
Great job on this card and I wanted you to know I have been watching your videos for sometime and have seen your card making come into your own great style. Thanks for sharing and congrats to your hubby for his achievement.
Hey, Wendy,
Beautiful card. I will try making it NEXT year.
And, congrats to your hubby. Our son is in the same “line” of work (yes, pun intended) and still loves it after 10 years. He works in Washington state.
Wendy,
Congratulations to you and your husband.
Love this card. Again, this was not a stamp set that caught my interest – UNTIL I see this! What a great set !
