I have patiently waited to sit down and create with this stamp set.  It’s been sitting on my shelf just staring at me saying, “Please create something fun and sweet and lovely with me”

So last week I took it off the shelf when I was able to squeeze in a few hours of creating and came up with a couple of cute cards.

My very favorite is this one.  The watercolor piece.  I LOVE how it turned out.  The colors, the painting, it just is happy and fun.  My watercoloring has come SO far.  Some time back my friend Karen, (SU demo in Nova Scotia) took time to help me learn some watercolor basics.  I practiced what she taught me and have taken a few other classes here and there.

I am not watercolorist, by any stretch of the imagination.  But I am getting better all the time.

I realize now that having the proper tools and knowing what to expect from your inks and paints is the most important ingredient to successful watercoloring.

For example I used Arches Cold Press watercolor paper to create this.  The ink moves beautifully on it and because I am novice I use a lot of water and this paper takes a beating and still looks nice.  There’s a link for this paper below the Stampin’ UP! supply list.

The other cards I created are very simple.  Nothing fancy or time consuming about them, but adorable none the less.  How could they not be adorable when they have one of these cutie patootie pigs stamped on them.
